Buffalo Hide Tipi Makers

Larry Belitz

First major maker of buffalo hide tipis in this century.  His works are located in several museums around the country.  He was technical advisor on hide tipis for the movies Dances with Wolves.  Larry has been making tipis since the 1970s.  Also authored the book "Brain Tanning the Sioux Way", published in 1973.  Is currently working on a book about brain tanned tipis.
